Job Summary
Conduct daily resident rounds twice to assess conditions, identify clinical concerns, and ensure quality care while monitoring resident status against physician orders and care plans. Lead, supervise, and coach licensed nurses, nursing assistants, and medication aides in delivering resident-centered care, scheduling assignments, and evaluating staff performance. Coordinate admissions, transfers, and discharges; document findings in medical records; and communicate with families, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams regarding treatment plans and status changes. Monitor the care environment for safety compliance, infection prevention, and regulatory standards, reporting incidents and participating in quality assurance, risk management, and committee meetings. Maintain accurate clinical documentation, including weekly Medicare progress notes and resident weight reviews, while ensuring HIPAA and CMS regulations are met.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a Registered Nurse (R.N.) currently licensed and in good standing with the Board of Nursing in the State in which the facility is located
- Must be able to tolerate a high pace as typical for a nursing facility
- Must be able to take and give instructions well
- Must be able to enjoy working with the elderly
- Must be able to sit
- Must be able to tolerate prolonged standing and walking
- Ability to read and write legibly
- Ability to comprehend and follow instructions
- Talking: Communicating with residents, families, physicians, visitors and staff
- Hearing: Taking instructions from the Administrator, To respond to resident complaints and requests, To respond appropriately to disaster instructions and pages
