Job Summary
Oversee clinical operations and daily activities of an assigned nursing unit, supervising staff, nursing assistants, and rehabilitation aides. Conduct resident assessments, ensure care plans are implemented, and monitor conditions while communicating changes with providers and families. Review provider orders, laboratory results, and quality indicators; coordinate admissions, discharges, and transfers. Participate in care plan meetings, QAPI activities, and interdisciplinary rounds to ensure regulatory compliance and accurate documentation. Support staff education, coaching, and performance management while monitoring infection control and resident safety. Address resident and staff concerns to promote a positive care environment.
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Nursing
- Valid NYS Registered Nurse (RN) License
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience in a long-term care setting
- Strong knowledge of resident assessments, care planning, and long-term care regulations
- Leadership experience with the ability to supervise, coach, and mentor staff
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to coordinate care across multiple disciplines and manage competing priorities
- Commitment to providing compassionate, resident-centered care
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- 3-5 years of long-term care experience with supervisory experience
- Experience with quality improvement, infection prevention, and regulatory compliance
