Job Summary
Conduct education and competency assessments for clinical and non-clinical staff across assigned units, translating hospital objectives and regulatory standards into actionable learning plans. Identify professional practice gaps by collecting data from organizational, unit, and learner levels to prioritize needs based on patient risk and strategic goals. Deliver targeted training programs that incorporate cultural considerations and evidence-based practices while supporting ongoing professional growth and change management initiatives. Receive new employees post-general orientation, ensuring assimilation through specific department-based training and annual competency measurements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in nursing
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience in respective specialty
- Current California Nursing license
- Certification in Nursing Professional Development (NPD), or Certification in clinical area of specialty
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Must complete annual Workplace Violence Prevention Program/Certificate, per hospital policy, during initial training/orientation but not to exceed 30 days from hire/transfer
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree in nursing
- Two (2) years of educator experience
- Bilingual skills
- Basic computer skills
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- NRP within 6 months of hire/transfer/notice
- Advanced Fetal Heart Monitoring Certificate within 6 months of hire/transfer/notice
