RN Unit Based Educator - Med Surg/Tele - Full Time Days (10hrs)

Job Summary
Conduct education programs for clinical and non-clinical staff across assigned units, translating hospital objectives and regulatory measures into department-level understanding. Receive new employees post-general and clinical orientation, providing specific department-based training, competency measurement, and support for unit assimilation. Document professional practice gaps, prioritize learning needs based on patient risk and strategic alignment, and develop context-specific educational plans that address cultural and generational differences. Implement strategies to optimize care and health outcomes while collaborating with inter-professional teams to drive quality improvement initiatives. Evaluate program progress and costs, disseminating results to enhance departmental quality and professional growth.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in nursing
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience in respective specialty
- Current California Nursing license
- Certification in Nursing Professional Development (NPD), or Certification in clinical area of specialty
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Must complete annual Workplace Violence Prevention Program/Certificate, per hospital policy, during initial training/orientation but not to exceed 30 days from hire/transfer
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree in nursing
- Two (2) years of educator experience
- Bilingual skills
- Basic computer skills
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- NRP within 6 months of hire/transfer/notice
- Advanced Fetal Heart Monitoring Certificate within 6 months of hire/transfer/notice
