Job Summary
RN - Trauma PCU provides nursing care for trauma surgery patients in a 20-bed PCU with units including an Epilepsy Monitoring Unit and Chronic Ventilator care. The RN assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care for patients of all ages, collaborates with the health-care team and families, uses delegation and critical thinking to deliver evidence-based, patient-centered care, participates in performance improvement, and supports patient advocacy and education. Requires Virginia RN licensure (or eligibility), BLS-HCP, with potential unit-specific ACLS/PALS/NRP requirements; EPIC experience; full-time status with Day/Evening shifts; Roanoke, VA location; strong emphasis on teamwork, resource management, and professional development.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing or approved nursing program
- Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in Virginia or eligible to obtain Virginia RN licensure
- Life Support: AHA BLS-HCP required
- May be required to obtain/maintain ACLS, PALS, NRP based on specific work unit
- Computer skills required for electronic medical records (EPIC)
