Job Summary
The RN Trauma ICU coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered trauma care, providing pre-operative and post-operative nursing care. As an advocate for patients, the RN supports an unparalleled patient experience, documents all patient care, utilizes the Nursing Process for individualized care, administers prescribed medications, and maintains knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment for cardiac and medical-surgical patients. The role supports compliance with National Patient Safety Goals and promotes service values and customer service initiatives within a high-acuity trauma setting.
Required Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse license in Tennessee or appropriate compact state
- Education – ASN, BSN preferred
- Appropriate communication skills
- Document the administration of care in patient medical records (implied need)
- Knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in care of cardiac and medical-surgical patients (implied)
