Job Summary
The Throughput Center RN works remotely to support patient placement, bed planning, and transfers into Mercy Hospitals in the East Region. Responsibilities include coordinating admissions/transfers, assigning patients to units based on facility criteria, and managing staffing logistics using EMR/electronic scheduling. Requires Missouri RN license, BLS, 3+ years telemetry or higher-acuity nursing, and residency within 1 hour of Mercy Hospitals to enable on-site support. Remote shift schedule is 6:45pm–7:15am for 3–12 hour shifts; role emphasizes high-level communication, coordination, and clinical judgment to ensure efficient patient flow and care continuity while maintaining on-site readiness when needed.
Required Qualifications
- RN License – Current RN license in the state of Missouri
- BLS certification
- 3+ years in Telemetry or higher acuity nursing (experience)
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Able to work remotely via phone and computer
- Must reside within 1 hour of a Mercy Hospital for on-site presence when needed
