Job Summary
Plan, supervise, and evaluate nursing care for patients in the DeKalb Emergency Department while administering medications, performing patient tests, and assisting physicians during examinations. Establish patient care goals, teach self-care skills, and document the nursing process to promote patient independence. Maintain a minimum of 36 hours per week for 13 weeks as a temporary registered nurse with full-time hours, eligible for overtime as needed. You will be considered an employee for the full 13-week agreement, though benefits are not available for this temporary assignment.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse
- Associate's degree
- 3 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in an Emergency Department
- knowledge and skills to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served
- knowledge of principles of growth and development over the life span
- ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status
- ability to interpret appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirement relative to the patient's needs
- ability to provide care needed as described in policy and procedure
- Current License with the Alabama Board of Nursing
- Current BLS
- ACLS after 6 months
- Minimum of 36 hours per week for 13 weeks
- Eligible for overtime as needed
- Must maintain hours worked at .80 or above inclusive of every other weekend and one holiday within the 13-week agreement
