Job Summary
The RN is responsible and accountable for directing, planning, and organizing the nursing activities on the unit for an assigned shift with focus on patient, physician and staff needs. Delivers skilled patient care through the nursing process, coordinates care among patient/family, medicine, nursing, and other team personnel, and acts as patient advocate. When acting as shift Charge Nurse, ensures effective and efficient delivery of nursing care and unit operations during the shift, promoting safety, teamwork, and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities include making patient care assignments based on patient acuity and staff competencies, promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement, evaluating and modifying assignments as needed, and supervising agency/temporary staff; demonstrates clinical reasoning, communication with healthcare teams, and adherence to hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Current RN licensure in the state of Texas
- Unit-specific certification (e.g., BLS, CPI)
