Job Summary
Direct, plan, and organize nursing activities for assigned night shifts, delivering skilled patient care through the nursing process while coordinating care among patients, families, physicians, and ancillary staff. Make patient care assignments based on acuity and staff competencies, evaluating and modifying assignments as needed to reprioritize unit needs and implement rescue efforts. Act as shift Charge Nurse to ensure efficient delivery of care, maintain a culture of safety, and demonstrate critical thinking skills. Supervise agency and new staff, delegate tasks under Texas Administrative Code Rule 224.6, and activate the Chain of Command when appropriate. Ensure compliance with hospital policies, infection control standards, CMS, and state regulations. Requires 2 years of Medical Surgical/Telemetry experience and current Texas RN licensure.
Required Qualifications
- 2 years in Medical Surgical/Telemetry
- Current RN licensure in the state of Texas
- Certification per unit specific competency (i.e. BLS, CPI, etc.)
- NIHS Scale
