Job Summary
Provide clinical leadership and oversight for patient care delivery while supporting staff development, operational efficiency, and quality outcomes. Serve as a team leader, clinical resource, and mentor to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care across assigned areas. Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care to achieve optimal outcomes, leading and mobilizing the care team to support positive results. Facilitate effective communication, resolve operational issues, and assist with staffing, scheduling, and workload distribution. Collaborate on fiscal management, resource allocation, and budget considerations while participating in performance improvement and quality initiatives. Conduct team meetings, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and respond to staffing needs, including supporting other Carilion facilities as required.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of a State Board of Nursing approved program
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience including demonstrated clinical and leadership expertise
- Current Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Virginia
- AHA BLS-HCP certification
- Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Ability to manage challenging patient situations as appropriate to role
- Night shift availability (Weekday Nights)
- Full time employment status
