Job Summary
Provide patient care on the Surgical Trauma "3A" 33-bed unit, focusing on adult post-operative and trauma patients. Perform head-to-toe assessments, read and post telemetry strips, and manage IV insertions, catheter/trach/ostomy care, wound care, and chest tube management. Maintain professional accountability for assigned patients while coordinating care with other departments. Work full-time nights with a 6:1 patient ratio, utilizing clinical skills to develop critical thinking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program
- Current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure
- Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
- Weekend shifts
