Job Summary
Provide patient care on the 33-bed Surgical Trauma "3A" unit, focusing on adult post-operative and trauma patients with a 5:1 day and 6:1 night nurse-to-patient ratio. Perform head-to-toe assessments, read and post telemetry strips, and manage IV insertions, catheter/trach/ostomy care, wound care, and chest tubes. Maintain professional accountability for assigned patients while utilizing the Mercy Nursing Conceptual Framework and coordinating care across departments. Work full-time nights on a weekend schedule with weekend and shift differentials. Requires current RN licensure, BLS certification, and ability to lift 50 pounds and stand/walk for prolonged periods.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program
- Current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure
- Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
- 1-2 years' RN experience
- 3-4 years' RN experience
- 5+ years' RN experience
