Job Summary
Conduct post-operative care for complex surgical patients on the 43-bed NT7 Digestive Surgical Unit, including trunk trauma and high-acuity cases. Manage advanced wound care using vacs, TPN, and ostomy education while collaborating with surgical residents and attendings. Perform initial assessments, develop care plans, and monitor telemetry for newly tracheostomized patients. Maintain accurate documentation and ensure patient safety through hazard reporting. Requires current RN license, BLS certification, and experience with complex surgical populations.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA)
- H.S. Diploma/GED
