Job Summary
Transplant Registered Nurse (RN) providing comprehensive pre- and post-transplant care for patients undergoing kidney, liver, heart, and multi-organ transplants. Responsibilities include conducting comprehensive assessments, monitoring graft function and lab values, administering immunosuppressive and antirejection therapies, managing wound care and infection prevention, coordinating biopsies/imaging/dialysis, supporting multidisciplinary rounds, and educating patients and families on medications, lifestyle changes, and post-transplant surveillance. Collaborates with transplant surgeons, nephrologists/hepatologists, pharmacists, social workers, dietitians, and transplant coordinators; maintains accurate electronic health records; adheres to infection control and safety standards; and participates in SPIRE clinical advancement opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred
- Licensure: Licensed and currently registered nurse in the State of Connecticut; BLS required; certification encouraged
