Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care for assigned patients on a 30-bed Surgical & Orthopedic Care Unit. Coordinate care with other departments while maintaining professional accountability and patient confidentiality. Manage a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio for diverse cases including orthopedic procedures, general surgeries, and specialized care such as bariatric surgery and sepsis. Work nights from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM as a full-time role with a 36-hour weekly schedule. Maintain ACLS and BLS certifications.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited RN program
- Active RN license (state-specific or compact)
- Must meet all state board of nursing requirements
- ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support
- BLS – Basic Life Support (or within 30 days of hire)
- Any unit-specific certifications (with timeline for completion)
- Regularly lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs
- Prolonged standing/walking throughout shift
- Ability to bend, kneel, twist, squat as needed
