Job Summary
Provide patient care on the Surgical & Orthopedic Care Unit using the nursing process, evaluating care effectiveness and coordinating with other departments. Maintain patient rights and confidentiality while managing a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio across diverse cases including orthopedic procedures, general surgeries, and specialized care like bariatric surgery and sepsis. Work nights from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM as part of a full-time, 36-hour week.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited RN program
- Active RN license (state-specific or compact)
- Must meet all state board of nursing requirements
- ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support
- BLS – Basic Life Support (or within 30 days of hire)
- Any unit-specific certifications (with timeline for completion)
- Regularly lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs
- Prolonged standing/walking throughout shift
- Ability to bend, kneel, twist, squat as needed
