Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care for assigned patients on a 30-bed Surgical & Orthopedic Care Unit, evaluating the effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinate patient care in conjunction with other departments while maintaining patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Manage a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6, supported by highly skilled Patient Care Associates to ensure safe, efficient, and compassionate care delivery for diverse medical and post-operative cases including orthopedic procedures, general surgeries, and specialized care. Work nights from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM in a full-time 36-hour week, eligible for sign-on bonuses and incentive pay.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited RN program
- Active RN license (state-specific or compact)
- Must meet all state board of nursing requirements
- ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support
- BLS – Basic Life Support (or within 30 days of hire)
- Any unit-specific certifications (with timeline for completion)
- Regularly lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs
- Prolonged standing/walking throughout shift
- Ability to bend, kneel, twist, squat as needed
