Job Summary

Perform detailed postoperative assessments, monitor vital signs and surgical sites, and promptly respond to changes in patient condition. Administer medications, wound care, and therapeutic interventions while evaluating patient responses. Coordinate care with surgeons, anesthesia teams, therapy providers, and case management to support effective recovery and discharge planning. Maintain accurate documentation within the electronic health record and educate patients and families on postoperative care needs, incision care, mobility expectations, pain management strategies, and safety precautions. Participate in quality and safety initiatives to enhance surgical patient outcomes. Requires current or temporary RN license in North Dakota or compact licensure, BLS certification, and ability to stand, walk, and assist with patient mobility in an acute care surgical recovery environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Current or temporary RN license in North Dakota or compact RN licensure
  • BLS certification
  • RN program as evidenced by licensure
  • Adequate vision, hearing, dexterity, and communication abilities
  • Adherence to infection-prevention and safety protocols
  • Proper use of PPE
  • Compliance with Trinity Health policies
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and assist patients with mobility
  • Ability to lift and move equipment
  • Ability to perform moderate physical work with appropriate body mechanics
  • Sustained attention
  • Ability to follow fast-paced situations

Desired Qualifications

  • Specialty certification in area of practice
  • Hospital experience
