Job Summary
Registered Nurse (RN) in Surgery / Surgical Services providing patient-centered nursing care per ANA standards; responsibilities emphasize assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, coordination of care, health teaching and promotion, and evaluation, with emphasis on leadership, collaboration, and professional practice. Requires licensure as a Connecticut RN; BSN preferred, BCLS within one month of hire; experienced OR RNs encouraged. The role involves applying ethics, culturally congruent practice, evidence-based practice, and adherence to the YNHHS standards of professional performance. Physical demands include standing and moving patients, with exposure to infectious diseases and end-of-life situations.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Licensed and a currently registered nurse in the State of Connecticut
- BSN preferred
- Current BCLS certification or must obtain within one month of hire
- Clinical specialty certification highly encouraged
