Job Summary
RN - Surgery / Surgical Services role within Yale New Haven Health System focusing on patient-centered perioperative nursing. Responsibilities emphasize nursing Process components (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, evaluation), coordination of care, health teaching, and evidence-based practice. The RN collaborates with patients, families, and health-care team, demonstrates ethical and culturally congruent practice, leads and participates in professional practice activities, and adheres to ANA standards of practice and YNHHS model of autonomy and accountability. Qualifications include graduation from an accredited nursing program with a BSN preferred, CT RN licensure, and BCLS certification with an emphasis on professional development through SPIRE clinical advancement. Physical demands include standing/walking for extended periods and exposure to infectious diseases. Additional information notes experienced OR RNs and a location in Anthony, KS (US).
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- BSN preferred
- Current CT RN licensure (Connecticut)
- BCLS certification required or obtain within one month of hire
- Clinical specialty certification highly encouraged
- Experience and ability to practice within ANA Scope and Standards of Practice
- Ability to practice under Connecticut Nurse Practice Act
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Leadership and professional practice expectations
- Ability to work in varied clinical settings including OR
