RN - Surgery / Surgical Services: As part of Yale New Haven Health System, the RN provides professional nurse care in a surgical setting, adhering to ANA standards, Connecticut Nurse Practice Act, and YNHHS practice model. Responsibilities include assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, health teaching, and evaluation; leadership and collaboration with patients, families, and health care team; emphasis on ethics, culturally congruent practice, quality and improvement, and evidence-based practice. Requires BSN (preferred) and active RN licensure in CT with ability to practice in the relevant setting, plus BCLS certification within one month of hire. Additional program involvement includes SPIRE clinical advancement and ongoing professional development; physical demands include standing, lifting patients, and exposure to infectious diseases.
