Registered Nurse (RN) - Surgery / Surgical Services provides professional nursing care within Yale New Haven Health System. Guides patient care in accordance with ANA Scope and Standards for Nursing Practice, the YNHHS Professional Practice Model, and the Connecticut Nurse Practice Act. Roles include assessment, diagnosis, planning and implementation of care, coordination of care, patient education, and health promotion, while communicating and collaborating with patients, families, and the health care team. Emphasizes leadership, ethics, culturally congruent practice, evidence-based practice, and quality improvement. Requires BSN preferred and CT licensure with current nursing practice; BCLS certification due within one month of hire; clinical specialty certification encouraged.
