Job Summary
Assess patient status through interview, observation, and physical assessment; develop individualized care plans using a collaborative approach with patients, families, and the health care team. Systematically evaluate and document progress toward expected outcomes, modifying plans based on patient condition changes. Perform bedside lab testing and associated quality control while troubleshooting equipment issues. Coordinate interdisciplinary care by analyzing clinical situations, obtaining resources, and utilizing physician or nurse-to-nurse consultations to resolve problems. Prioritize work based on patient condition changes, assignment turnover, and unanticipated interruptions, providing goal-focused shift reports. Adapt teaching strategies to patient age, cultural, and developmental needs, ensuring safety through adherence to National Patient Safety Goals. Participate in data collection, audits, and performance improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and satisfaction.
Required Qualifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA)
- Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
- Bachelor's Degree: Nursing
