Job Summary
Assess patient status through interview, observation, and physical assessment to develop individualized plans of care using a collaborative approach. Systematically evaluate and document patient progress toward expected outcomes, modifying plans based on changes in condition. Perform bedside lab testing and associated quality control while obtaining adequate specimens for testing. Coordinate interdisciplinary care by analyzing clinical situations to obtain resources or correct problems, prioritizing work based on patient condition and unanticipated interruptions. Provide goal-focused shift reports, advocate with physicians, and utilize communication strategies to promote high team performance. Adapt teaching strategies based on patient response and cultural factors, and actively participate in data collection, audits, and process improvements to enhance patient satisfaction. Adhere to assigned weekly, weekend, and holiday call shifts in accordance with hospital protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA)
- Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
- Bachelor's Degree: Nursing
