Job Summary

Assume responsibility for the primary care of assigned Hospice and Palliative Care patients and families under the supervision of the Director, Supportive Care Services. Assess, develop, implement, and evaluate an individualized plan of care to maximize comfort and health. Identify patient and family needs, then provide supportive care in accordance with attending Physician orders, the Plan of Care, and department policies. Maintain IV pumps and central lines while documenting care in electronic records systems. Requires current RN licensure in MA or RI, BLS certification, and recent hospital experience. Day shift rotation (8:00am–4:30pm) with weekend and holiday coverage.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an NLN accredited school of Nursing
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing
  • Two years recent hospital, medical/surgical or other relevant nursing experience
  • Current RN licensure in the Commonwealth of MA and RI
  • Basic life support (BLS) certification
  • Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired

Desired Qualifications

  • Hospice & Palliative Care Certification
  • Demonstrated knowledge of I.V. pump, and central line maintenance
  • Has knowledge and skills necessary to provide care, which is appropriate to the population of patients served
  • Proficient computer skills, including experience with various software, database and electronic records programs
