Job Summary
Oversee nursing staff, including team leaders, nursing assistants, and trainees during assigned shifts while ensuring resident care plans are implemented and followed. Conduct resident assessments, monitor condition changes, and address concerns from residents, families, and staff to promote a positive care experience. Manage medication administration, treatments, documentation, and nursing services while responding to emergencies and safety incidents. Support staff education, coaching, and performance management activities, and assist with staffing coverage and scheduling adjustments. Ensure compliance with facility policies, infection control standards, and regulatory requirements, and participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Nursing
- Valid NYS Registered Nurse (RN) License
- Minimum of 1 year of RN experience in a geriatric or rehabilitation setting
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- 3+ years of RN experience in a geriatric or rehabilitation setting
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication, leadership, and conflict resolution abilities
- Knowledge of long-term care regulations, infection control practices, and resident rights
- Ability to lead teams and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
