Job Summary
Collaborate with the Nurse Manager to ensure safe, goal-directed care across neighborhoods and supervise nursing staff on evening and night tours. Perform clinical evaluations for physicians, manage the night medication cabinet, and round on residents to obtain clinical information and support staff. Initiate investigations of care issues, including incident reports and abuse/neglect reporting, while interpreting policies and providing education to the team. Provide coaching, counseling, and performance evaluations for staff, maintain accurate shift records, and ensure house coverage is provided when requested.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited RN program
- B.S. N.
- RN in the State of New York
- BCLS certificate
- Minimum of two years pediatric experience
- Minimum of three years experience in supervisory role
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language fluently
- Must meet or exceed all health standards and requirements for the position as established by NYDOH and all other regulatory agencies
- Must meet the general health requirements set fourth by the policies of this Center which includes a medical and physical examination
- Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of thirty-five (35) pounds
- Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents, if necessary
Desired Qualifications
- M.S.N.
- PALS certification preferred
- Completion of courses mandated for continuation of RN license, (ex. Infection Control course; Child Abuse course.)
- Experience in pediatric and adolescent chronic and restorative nursing modalities preferred
Additional Requirements
