RN Supervisor | Nursing Operations

Job Summary

Oversee patient care and administrative activities for inpatient units by coordinating staffing needs, managing bed flow, and resolving operational issues affecting care. Make time-sensitive administrative decisions, redeploy staff based on census and acuity, and lead responses to on-site emergencies like Code Blue or Rapid Response. Conduct annual performance appraisals, provide regular feedback, and collaborate with leadership on hiring and corrective actions. Evaluate quality of care, clinical decision-making, and educational needs while mentoring staff and investigating patient/visitor occurrences. Work night shifts (12-hour) full-time, with critical care or ICU experience preferred. Maintain compliance with hospital policies and state nursing regulations.

Required Qualifications

  • Current Montana RN License or a multi state compact license with authorization to practice nursing within the state of Montana
  • Minimum of five (5) years' recent acute care (inpatient) nursing experience
  • Minimum of one (1) year leadership (Lead, Charge, or Shift Unit Supervisor)
  • RQI Provider (BLS) within 7 days if hire/transfer or before independent patient care, whichever comes first
  • ALS (ACLS) within 6 months of hire/transfer
  • PALS within 6 months of hire/transfer
  • Medical/clinical knowledge and technical skills for respective department(s)/unit(s)
  • Self-starter with proactive ability to mentor, coach, support, and assist staff
  • Ability to act with integrity, kindness, and exhibit empathy
  • Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, critical thinking skills, and ability to set priorities and function as part of a team independently
  • Commitment to working in a team environment and maintaining confidentiality
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy
  • Possess and maintain computer skills to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software as needed
  • Night Shift availability (12-hour night shifts)
  • Full-time employment (36 hours per week)
  • Passing pre-employment screening (Criminal background check, Reference checks, Drug Screening, Health and Immunizations Screening, Physical Demand Review/Screening)

Desired Qualifications

  • BSN degree
  • Critical Care or ICU experience
