Job Summary
Coordinate clinical operations on the unit, plan patient care, and manage care for individuals and cohorts. Design, implement, and evaluate nursing interventions by supervising licensed nurses, patient care technicians, and other health professionals. Facilitate discharge planning and serve as a communication link between the Unit Director, staff, patients, and physicians. Manage and develop employees, resolve problems, and ensure cost-effective use of human, environmental, and material resources while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local laws. Adapt behavior to the specific patient population and perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Registered nurse diploma
- 2 years relevant experience working in a fast-paced, stressful environment
- Current RN License in the state of practice
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
- Duties performed routinely require exposure to blood, body fluid and tissue
- Occupational risk for exposure to all communicable diseases
- Occupational risk for exposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in nursing
