Job Summary
Coordinate clinical operations on the unit, manage and develop employees, and supervise the care provided by licensed nurses, patient care technicians, and other health professionals. Design, implement, and evaluate nursing interventions while facilitating effective discharge planning and serving as a communication link between staff, physicians, and the Unit Director. Manage resources cost-effectively, communicate critical issues to appropriate parties, and adapt behavior to the specific patient population. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, accreditation standards, and the Compliance & Privacy Program. Maintain knowledge of current regulatory requirements and report any unethical behaviors or safety concerns immediately.
Required Qualifications
- Registered nurse diploma
- 2 years relevant experience working in a fast-paced, stressful environment
- Current RN License in the state of practice
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
- Duties performed routinely require exposure to blood, body fluid and tissue
- Occupational risk for exposure to all communicable diseases
- Occupational risk for exposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in nursing
