Job Summary
Coordinate clinical operations on the unit by designing, implementing, and evaluating nursing interventions while supervising licensed nurses, patient care technicians, and other health professionals. Manage and develop employees, facilitate effective discharge planning, and serve as a communication link between the Unit Director, staff, patients, and physicians. Use the nursing process effectively to deliver patient care, communicate critical issues to appropriate parties, and adapt behavior to the specific patient population. Effectively manage resources and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, accreditation standards, and regulatory agency requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Registered nurse diploma
- 2 years relevant experience working in a fast-paced, stressful environment
- Current RN License in the state of practice
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
- Exposure to blood, body fluid and tissue
- Occupational risk for exposure to all communicable diseases
- Exposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in nursing
