Job Summary
Coordinate shift activities and perform direct patient care, including initial health screenings, administering medications, managing emergencies, and conducting daily clinical rounds. Assess patient needs, develop care plans, and triage while educating individuals on preventative care and substance abuse prevention. Monitor and document vital signs, medical histories, and treatment plans to ensure compliance with correctional healthcare policies and regulations. Maintain accurate medical records and adhere to established protocols and security procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Holds a current, unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse within Arizona
- Must possess an active BLS Certification (American Heart Association required)
- Must pass the facility's criminal background check and drug screening
- Two years of full time RN Leadership experience
- knowledge of nursing practice principles and techniques
- knowledge of occupational health and safety standards
- knowledge of infectious disease management
- knowledge of applicable health care laws, regulations, and procedures for direct health care services
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Able to work independently and in a team
- Flexible schedule and availability to work overtime when needed
- Integrity, professionalism and ability to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements
- Must have the ability to stand for long periods
- Must have the ability to lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds)
- Must have the ability to bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances
- Must have the ability to perform physically demanding tasks like CPR
- Must have the ability to maintain good balance and endurance throughout a shift
