Job Summary
RN Supervisor on the 11p-7a shift overseeing second-line supervisory nursing and resident care personnel across more than one unit. Responsibilities include identifying staffing needs, assigning nursing staff to units, coordinating with Unit Managers/Charge Nurses, monitoring staffing and performance, evaluating residents’ conditions, liaising with on-call physicians, and working with interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality resident care. Requires thorough knowledge of professional nursing principles, supervisory skills, regulatory requirements for resident care, and ability to manage relationships with physicians, staff, residents and families. Education equivalent to graduation from an accredited school of nursing and three to five years of professional nursing experience with at least one year in a first-line supervisory role.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from accredited school of nursing
- Three to five years of professional nursing experience, one year of which shall have been at the first-line supervisory level
- Knowledge of regulatory and other requirements for resident care coverage, resident-staff ratio, and related service provision matters
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, associates, and residents and their families
- Ability to plan, assign and review the work of lower-level nursing and resident care personnel
- Ability to instruct, correct and advise lower-level nursing and resident care personnel in the performance of their duties
