Job Summary
Establish and achieve goals for evening or weekend shifts consistent with organizational objectives. Ensure a workplace environment that optimizes patient care and safety while promoting a customer service philosophy with patients, staff, and vendors. Collaborate with charge RNs and MHWs to address medical, psychological, and social concerns; respond to behavioral emergencies, obtain certificates of need, and complete post-event evaluations. Provide comprehensive verbal and written handoffs, communicate critical incidents to the AOC, and coach, mentor, and redirect staff as needed. Maintain organizational policies and complete mandatory education and e-learning courses. Requires Vermont RN licensure, three years in behavioral health, and two years of management experience.
Required Qualifications
- Vermont RN licensure or eligibility for Vermont licensure
- Minimum of three years experience in behavioral health
- Two years of management experience
- Computer literate
- Knowledge of PC environment
- Typing skills
- Email usage skills
- Ability to complete formatted report to executives, managers, and clinicians regarding data and events of previous shift
- Proven ability to triage and problem solve
- Proven competence with physical assessment
- Nursing care and theory
- Evaluation of the patient or resident after a physical hold
- Evaluation of the patient or resident after locked-door seclusion
- Evaluation of the patient or resident after involuntary medication event
