Job Summary
Assess patient needs and implement teaching strategies for diverse groups while utilizing the Nursing Process to deliver care. Communicate, delegate, and manage nursing team resources effectively as a leader on the Interdisciplinary Team. Evaluate outcomes and promote changes to achieve optimal patient results, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws. Maintain knowledge of accreditation standards and regulatory requirements while reporting any compliance concerns. Duties include exposure to blood, body fluids, and hazardous medications in a patient care area.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse Diploma
- Current RN License in the state of practice
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
- Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of patient information
- Must be proficient with Windows-style applications, various software packages specific to role and keyboard
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Heavy Work - Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
- Duties performed routinely require exposure to blood, body fluid and tissue
- Occupational risk for exposure to all communicable diseases
- Occupational risk for exposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste within the environment
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing
- Certification in clinical specialty area
