Job Summary
Provide direct, compassionate patient care within surgical specialties while adhering to high standards for assessment, care delivery, and transfer. Work with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, holistic care and advocate for patients through education and emotional support. Leverage electronic health systems to accurately document information and create comprehensive care plans with physicians and specialists. Mentor fellow nurses and develop leadership skills for potential Charge RN roles within a supportive environment.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program as required by licensure
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association (AHA)
- At least one year of nursing experience, or completion of the Legacy Health RN Residency program (or equivalent program)
- BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) is strongly preferred. If you're working towards your BSN, we encourage you to apply!
- For certain roles, a BSN is required. We also consider RNs without a BSN based on clinical experience and with approval from the Chief Nursing Officer
Desired Qualifications
- Acute care experience preferred, this unit will train nurses that have a strong desire to learn and grow
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to connect effectively with patients, families, and colleagues
- Ability to navigate and utilize electronic health systems
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities — because in this role, every day is different, and your expertise will make all the difference
