Job Summary
Administer and supervise direct and indirect patient care within Post-partum/GYN, Nursery, Labor and Delivery, and C-Section operating room. Demonstrate competence in post-partum, labor and delivery, C-section patient, and newborn care after orientation. Complete NRP, ACLS, BLS, fetal scalp electrode, IUPC, and neonatal IV therapy certification within one year of assignment to the Birthplace/Special Deliveries unit. Requires current Alabama State Board of Nursing licensure and graduation from an accredited nursing program.
Required Qualifications
- High School Graduate or Equivalent
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing program
- Current licensure by the Alabama State Board of Nursing
- Demonstrate competence in the care of the post-partum, labor and delivery, C-section patient and the newborn
- Successful completion of NRP certification
- Successful completion of ACLS certification
- Successful completion of BLS certification
- Successful completion of fetal scalp electrode certification
- Successful completion of IUPC certification
- Successful completion of neonatal IV therapy certification
