Job Summary
Assess patient needs and prioritize care in the Surgical ICU or Surgical Trauma ICU Step Down unit. Plan and delegate nursing care based on patient status, while evaluating responses to interventions and tracking progress toward expected outcomes. Maintain established standards of care and policies during the assigned shift. Maintain current BLS certification upon orientation and obtain ACLS within the first six months of employment. Complete department-specific competencies within the provisional period.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Current Alabama or Multistate nursing license
- BLS for Healthcare Providers
- ACLS
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment
- Prioritizing and changing tasks frequently
- Knowledge of all equipment and materials required for procedures described in the Nursing Service Procedure Manual
- Completion of Department specific competencies within the provisional period
