Job Summary
Develops and implements orientation and education programs for nursing units, coordinating unit-specific educational initiatives with department leadership. Evaluates staff competency and development needs; partners with centralized education to align hospital-wide nursing education activities; supports nurse residency and preceptor programs, mentors staff, and serves as CBISA reporter for the department. Builds annual educational outcomes plans, integrates evidence-based findings into practice, and collaborates with unit leadership to ensure clinical competency and appropriate training across the nursing department. Requires active RN licensure in Tennessee, BLS and PALS/NRP status, and experience in education/training within a hospital setting. Provides leadership in educational initiatives, coaching and development of peers, and participates in hospital committees to advance educational needs and quality of care.}
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- Registered Professional Nurse licensed in Tennessee
- BLS certification
- PALS and NRP provider status
- BLS instructor within one year of hire
- Minimum 3 years professional nursing experience
- 1 year training-related experience (content expert activities/precepting)
- Master's Degree preferred ( Nursing, Education, Organizational Management or related field )
