Job Summary
Develop and lead comprehensive training programs to ensure staff competency, promote regulatory compliance, and elevate resident care at the new 154-bed Burnett Extended Care Center. Coordinate onboarding and orientation for new hires while conducting ongoing clinical education for nursing and support staff. Collaborate with nursing leadership to identify learning needs, evaluate performance, and implement development plans, maintaining accurate training records to support adherence to internal, state, and federal standards. This role focuses on shaping a high-performing team in a collaborative, post-acute setting serving patients transitioning from hospital to home.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- graduation from an accredited School of Nursing
- 2 years of experience as a licensed nurse
- 1 year of experience as a licensed nurse providing care and services to chronically ill or elderly patients in an acute care hospital, skilled nursing facility, intermediate care facility, home care, hospice care, or other long-term care setting
- 1 year of experience planning, implementing, and evaluating education programs in nursing
- 24 hours of continuing education certificate(s) in planning, implementing, and evaluating education programs in nursing
- courses must be either approved by the Board of Registered Nursing or be administered by an accredited educational institution
- certificates must be obtained within six months of employment and prior to teaching in a training program
- BLS - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers by American Heart Association
- RN - Current and valid Registered Nurse license to work within the state of California
- DSD - Certified Director of Staff Development
