Job Summary
Plan, supervise, and evaluate nursing care for patients by assessing assigned individuals, implementing care plans, and documenting progress. Assist physicians during examinations and procedures while performing various patient tests and administering medications within the scope of practice. Promote patient independence by establishing care goals and teaching families regarding conditions, medications, and self-care skills. Requires an associate's degree in nursing, current Alabama Board of Nursing license, BLS certification, and ACLS within six months. Two years of hospital or medically related experience is desirable. Located in Fort Payne, Alabama, this full-time or PRN role at DeKalb Regional Medical Center, a Joint Commission-accredited facility serving northeast Alabama and western Georgia since 1986, offers a sign-on bonus for full-time staff.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse
- Associate's degree
- Current License with the Alabama Board of Nursing
- Current BLS
- Knowledge and skills to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served
- Knowledge of principles of growth and development over the life span
- Ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status
- Ability to interpret appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirement relative to the patient's needs
- Ability to provide care needed as described in policy and procedure
Desired Qualifications
- At least two years of experience in a hospital or medically related environment
- ACLS after 6 months
