Job Summary
Plan, supervise, and evaluate nursing care for patients by implementing the nursing process, medical plan of care, and facility policies. Assess assigned patients, administer medications within scope of practice, and assist physicians during examinations and procedures. Establish patient care goals, teach patients and families about conditions and self-care skills, and document all care activities. Requires an associate's degree in nursing, current Alabama Board of Nursing license, BLS certification, and ACLS certification within six months. Two years of hospital experience is desirable.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing
- Current License with the Alabama Board of Nursing
- Current BLS
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge and skills to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served
- Knowledge of principles of growth and development over the life span
- Ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status
- Ability to interpret appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirement relative to the patient's needs
- Ability to provide care as described in policy and procedure
Desired Qualifications
- At least two years of experience in a hospital or medically related environment
- ACLS certification (after 6 months)
