Job Summary
As a Per Diem RN STAFF 3 in the Emergency Room, the role involves the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care for patients and their families while ensuring safety and comfort. The nurse must demonstrate clinical competencies and participate in specific safety programs. A minimum of 12 months of experience in the specialty area within the last three years is required, along with various mandatory certifications including California Registered Nurse License, BLS, ACLS, NRP, NIHSS, and depending on the specialty area, PALS certification.
Required Qualifications
- Current California Registered Nurse License
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through American Heart Association (AHA)
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification through AHA
- Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification through AHA
- Current National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification
- Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certificate through AHA
Desired Qualifications
- B.S.N. preferred
- National certification in medical-surgical care or critical care nursing
Additional Requirements
- Classification as RN III in one specialty does not apply if transfers to another specialty area until requirements are met in new specialty.
