Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care while maintaining professional accountability for assigned patients. Evaluate the effectiveness of care provided by direct care givers and coordinate patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information, ensuring all duties align with mission, values, and service standards. Interpret and apply clinical guidelines and policies while communicating clearly with patients, staff, and the public. Operate equipment related to the urology specialty and manage emergency situations calmly. Requires a current valid state license and CPR certification.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Knowledge of the principles and skills needed for nursing, care, examination, diagnostic and treatment room procedures
- Knowledge of medications and their effects
- Knowledge of patient education
- Knowledge of principles to develop a self-care program
- Knowledge of instruments and common safety practices
- Current valid state license
- A valid driver's license
- Skill in assisting and performing a variety of medical treatments and procedures
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
- Must be able to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and policies
- Must be able to communicate clearly
- Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, staff and the public
- Basic computer terminal and keyboard skills, or the ability to learn these skills
- Must be able to operate equipment normally related to the specialty of the clinic
- CPR certification or obtain within 90 days of employment
