Job Summary
Provide professional nursing care to patients within the medical practice in support of, and as directed by, the physicians. Assist the physician in the treatment of patients and complete related clinical paperwork. Interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and policies while communicating clearly with patients, families, visitors, and employees using a caring, friendly, personal, and professional approach. Operate equipment normally related to the specialty of the clinic and perform a variety of medical treatments and procedures. React calmly and effectively in emergency situations. Maintain effective working relationships with patients, staff, and the public.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Knowledge of the principles and skills needed for nursing, care, examination, diagnostic and treatment room procedures
- Knowledge of medications and their effects
- Knowledge of patient education
- Knowledge of principles to develop a self-care program
- Knowledge of instruments and common safety practices
- Current valid state license
- Skill in assisting and performing a variety of medical treatments and procedures
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
- Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and policies
- Ability to communicate clearly
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, staff and the public
- Basic computer terminal and keyboard skills
- Ability to learn computer terminal and keyboard skills
- Ability to access information
- Ability to enter clinical data
- Ability to operate equipment normally related to the specialty of the clinic
Desired Qualifications
- CPR certification or obtain within 90 days of employment
