Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care at the Ophthalmology Surgery Center in Springfield, MO. Maintain professional accountability for assigned patients, coordinate care with other departments, and uphold patient rights and confidentiality. Perform a variety of medical treatments and procedures while interpreting guidelines and policies. React calmly in emergency situations and communicate effectively with patients, staff, and the public. Operate specialty clinic equipment and enter clinical data using computer terminals. Maintain a current valid state license and CPR certification.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Current valid state license
- Valid driver's license
- CPR certification or obtain within 90 days of employment
- Skill in assisting and performing a variety of medical treatments and procedures
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
- Must be able to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and policies
- Must be able to communicate clearly and establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, staff and the public
- Basic computer terminal and keyboard skills, or the ability to learn these skills, in order to access information and enter clinical data
- Must be able to operate equipment normally related to the specialty of the clinic
