Job Summary
Provides direct patient care in a Labor & Delivery specialty unit in accordance with scope of practice and organizational standards. Responsibilities include delegating care to ancillary staff, precepting students/new hires, planning and evaluating care based on patient assessment, monitoring and documenting patient condition, coordinating multidisciplinary care (including disposition and psychosocial support), and educating patients and families. Requires a nursing program credential and a set of certifications (ACLS, BLS, PALS, fetal monitoring) with specific timelines; includes potential involvement in pediatric and NICU contexts and adherence to unit-specific credentialing and safety requirements. Strong emphasis on critical thinking, effective communication, and ability to work with minimal supervision in a high-stress environment.
Required Qualifications
- Accredited Nursing Program (Required)
- RN Licensure (State of Florida)
- ACLS Certification (AHA)
- BLS Certification (AHA)
- PALS Certification (AHA)
- NRP Certification (NICU) or eligible
- Fetal Monitoring Certification (or equivalent)
- RN Fellowship or independent practice experience (1 year)
- Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Provider Certification or equivalent (within 12 months for oncology patients)
