Job Summary
Per diem RN – Specialty II in Labor & Delivery at Memorial Healthcare System in Hollywood, FL. Provides direct patient care in a designated specialty unit in accordance with scope and standards of practice and organizational policies. Delegates patient care to ancillary personnel, may precept student nurses and new hires, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care based on assessment to optimize outcomes, monitors and communicates patient condition, coordinates care across disciplines, and provides patient and family education tailored to age, culture, condition, and circumstances. Requires a valid Florida RN license and multiple certifications (ACLS, BLS, NRP, Fetal Monitoring) with additional pediatric requirements (PALS) as applicable, plus a minimum of one year of nursing experience. Works in a per diem, day shift capacity with potential for varied shifts and responsibilities as defined by department needs.
Required Qualifications
- Accredited Nursing Program (RN)
- Florida Registered Nurse license (RN)
- ACLS Certification
- BLS Certification
- NRP Certification
- Fetal Monitoring Certification (required prior to completion of orientation for L&D RNs)
- PALS Certification for Pediatric areas (required within 30 days if RN from non-pediatric background)
- One year of nursing experience required
- Ability to obtain additional required credentials within specified timelines (e.g., ACLS/PALS/NRP)
- Ability to work days and adapt to high-stress environment
- Ability to perform clinical duties inLabor & Delivery setting
- Basic computer/record-keeping skills (EHR)
- Successfully complete post-offer pre-placement assessment including drug testing
