Job Summary
Provides direct patient care in an Emergency Department specialty unit with a focus on evidence-based nursing practice and patient/family-centered care. Responsibilities include evaluating learning needs of patients and families and providing culturally appropriate education; collaborating across disciplines to coordinate care, including disposition, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support; planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care based on assessments to optimize outcomes; monitoring and documenting patient condition and communicating changes; effectively delegating tasks to ancillary staff; and may precept student nurses and new hires. Requires strong accountability, customer service, organizational skills, knowledge of disease processes, and commitment to patient safety and standards of behavior.
Required Qualifications
- Accredited Nursing Program
- Registered Nurse License (RN) - Florida
- ACLS Certification
- BLS Certification
- PALS Certification (for pediatric areas)
- RN Fellowship/advanced certifications as applicable
- Oncology-related certifications if administering chemotherapy (e.g., chemotherapy provider certificates) as required per unit
- CPR certification
- Ability to obtain necessary state-specific licenses and certifications
